Welcome to the Banglades Islamic Center

History

Baitul Mukarram Masjid (BIC) is located in the heart of the Washington D.C. Metro Area. Baitul Mukarram is a non profit 501c(3) organization. The masjid was established in 2002 with the initiative of eleven founding members. BIC is currently governed by a 11-member board of directors.

Our objectives include:
  • To foster a Muslim community based on Islamic principles of brotherhood, equality, mutual help, and knowledge transfer.
  • To conduct a program of Islamic educations and to organize religious and social activities prescribed by the Qur’an and Sunnah for the benefit of the Muslim community.
  • To promote friendly and informed understanding between the Muslim community and the community at large, and to disseminate information on Islamic principles. To cooperate with other Islamic organizations to achieve its goals and objectives, following the law of the land.
  • BIC maintains good relations with Christians, the Jewish, Hindus, and other religious groups.

Sheikh Mohammad Fakhar Uddin Al Madani

The Grand Imam and Principle at Bangladesh Islamic Center (BIC)

Mohammad Fakhar Uddin graduated from the Medina Islamic University, Saudi Arabia, in the fields of Islamic Shariah and Arabic language.
He also obtained his master's degree from The International Islamic University of Chittagong in Quran and Modern Science, and he is currently pursuing another master's degree in Hadith from the Islamic University of Kushtia, Bangladesh.

Mohammad Fakhar Uddin has 4 sanad/ijazah of Quran recitation, which can be traced back to Prophet Mohammed, from Masjid-an-Nabawi, Saudi Arabia.
Sheikh has also been serving in the Dawah field in Saudi & Bangladesh since 2014.

Sheikh Abdelfatah Abouasy Alazhary

The Imam and Director of Religious affairs at Bangladesh Islamic center (BIC)

He graduated from the prestigious Al-Azhar University of Cairo, Egypt, in Islamic Studies, Culture, and Sharia.

He studied cultural Islamic diploma for 2 years in Al-Azhar university, and now he is Studying his master degree under title(the balance in the scholars's life) in the same university. He has 4 "sanad / ijazah" linked to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in Quran.

Also he is the director of the religious education in Sabree Academy school.
He memorized the noble Quran when he was 10 years old and was honored by sheikh Al-Azhar several times.
He was a formal Imam, Khateeb, and teacher for the Egyptian Endowments Ministry in different Mosques in cairo since 2013.
Also he worked for several active Islamic centers in Virginia particularly through month of Ramadan.
